Welcome
to the Las Vegas section of Discount Hotel Group.
On the strip you
will find thousands of acres of tropical rainforest,
lions and tigers, dolphins and sharks, gigantic fountains,
huge throngs of people in a city that never sleeps.
But over 40 miles away, beyond the gigantic man-made
Lake Mead , a strange world miraculously appears-
a stark, rugged, desolate landscape where only the
toughest can survive.
We start our tour
of Las Vegas attractions amid the glitz and glamour
of the Strip. Nowhere else on earth will you find
the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge (New
York, New York), the majestic Sphinx and King Tut's
tomb (Luxor), the gondolas of Venice (Venetian)
and 'ancient' Roman villages (The Forum) within just
a few miles from each other.

Off to the Mirage,
where you will enjoy some fantastic onsite shopping and
(of course) a filling lunch at one of their 12 theme restaurants
- set amid a gigantic indoor tropical rainforest. A tram
service connects the Mirage with Treasure Island, where
the critically-acclaimed show Mystere is staged at Buccaneer
Bay.
At Treasure Island you're
just one block away from the Fashion Show Mall (what a relief
for your poor aching feet!) Located on the Strip at Spring
Mountain, the Fashion Show Mall is equally popular with
tourists and locals (who know a good bargain when they see
it). Shop at over 140 stores including the famed department
stores such as Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillard's, Neiman
Marcus and others of similar stature. You can recreate your
own casino back home by shopping here for gaming tables,
gaming books, dice, cards and a whole lot more. Get lucky!
Other shopping notables
include the Boulevard Mall - Nevada's largest mall - near
Flamingo. With over 170 shops and palm-lined walkways,
the Boulevard Mall offers affordable shopping and an eclectic
collection of large and small shops (Wet Seal, Nature Company,
The Limited and Sweet Factory).
Don't forget the Las
Vegas Chinatown Plaza, near the Sahara. The Nascar café
at the Sahara Hotel offers one of the newest "Strip" attractions
- "Speed", the fastest roller coaster in Las Vegas. Take
your pick from Sahara's eclectic mix of shopping (7 unique
onsite stores), dining and entertainment options. Just across
the street from the Sahara , there's Bonanza, touted to
be the 'World's Largest Gift Shop'. Amazing!
At the end of a mysterious,
candlelit hallway, there's Light . Done
up in classy wood, rich-red drapery and chic furniture,
Light caters to a well-heeled crowd - with a fair chance
of bumping into a celebrity or two. Mysterious and stylish,
Light is a pleasing diversion from the not-so-subtle nightclubs
that abound Vegas.
The Bellagio also offers
amazing nightly performances by The Cirque du Soleil. The
critically-acclaimed "O" is a daring production "inspired
by the concept of infinity, the circle of life and the elegance
of its pure form". All we'll say is, Go for it!
